Hi everyone! We’re blogging on our trip to Italy. We arrived on…..what day was it…oh yes…Monday morning Rome time, about 24 hours after we left Colorado, with the time change and all. Trip went well though Beth didn’t sleep much at all on the plane. Landed at Rome Fuciamano (sp?) airport and got our first hit of Italy….trying to find the rental car location. If you’re lucky, you’ll find a sign but try to find another one and…..by then you’re in Venice or somewhere. And stay to the right or left or somewhere out of the way of other people who know where they’re going and use “Scusi” a lot.
Anyway, after an hour or so of haggling with the rental car place we had our Nissan Micra and we’re on our way.
Check this out……below you see a restored, old yellow Fiat. My grandmother had a car like this, a blue one, when I was little kid in the early 60’s. I can remember almost being side swiped by a car that she never saw….she must have been over 80 when she was driving that thing. I saw a lot of these in really good shape in Italy. They even have a new, retro version of this car (kind of like the new Mini Cooper that’s a take off of the old one).
